CargoLine opens domestic network to ABX LOGISTICS Germany
LTL cooperation affiliates six ABX branches as franchisees
Dietzenbach/Brussels, January 31, 2006 – CargoLine in Dietzenbach (Frankfurt) and ABX LOGISTICS Germany have decided to affiliate the ABX branches of Augsburg, Dietzenbach, Kassel, Magdeburg, Offenburg and Unterschleißheim into CargoLine’s domestic LTL network. These branches will become franchisees. With this decision, the two companies aim in the long run to strengthen their position on the German LTL market.
“The affiliation of these promising ABX branches will provide a real boost for us in optimising our domestic network, thus strengthening the cooperation in the longer term“, Hans-Helmut Feykes, Managing Director of CargoLine, explains. “What is more, our customers will benefit from the effects of synergy, e.g. in the contract logistics sector.“
“This agreement makes enormous sense for our customers on the competitive German road market. Customers of both parties will benefit from even denser distribution coverage in Germany, combined with the highest quality of service standards“, adds Stefan Hausmann, Sales and Marketing Manager of ABX LOGISTICS (Germany).
Within a minimum of time, the new partners will align their domestic services on CargoLine’s standards and offer CargoLine’s range of products. ABX LOGISTICS and CargoLine have taken all necessary steps to ensure smooth implementation. This includes linking the new franchisees to CargoLine’s track & trace tool, CEPRA II.
In addition to the ABX branches which become part of the network, individual CargoLine partners and ABX LOGISTICS are currently organising close cooperation at additional sites, e.g. CargoLine-led joint ventures. CargoLine and ABX LOGISTICS expect to implement these additional cooperation arrangements and joint ventures between February and April 2006, subject to competition clearance.
CargoLine’s existing European network, which is partly based on long-standing relationships, will remain as it is. Independent of the cooperation between ABX LOGISTICS and CargoLine in Germany, ABX LOGISTICS will continue to operate its European and global freight forwarding network, connecting over 190 European cities and 30 countries worldwide.
